The first thing I ever wanted to be as a kid was an author and illustrator. Not an astronaut, not a veterinarian, not a princess. I continued to draw throughout school, did a brief stint in architecture (loved the drafting, hated the computers) and now just work in my free time. I’ll be posting pictures of my things periodically, I love feedback so let me know what you think.
My dog Aspen (right) and my brother’s dog Rowdy. This is my favorite technique for drawing, I love the negative effect and these drawings don’t take too long. I’m working on getting an Etsy shop set up for this style of custom pictures- not just pets! Contact me if you have questions.
Wow… when you said “doodles” I thought you meant cartoon-ish stick figures. This is actually amazing! Great job.
Posted by faithwithers | July 8, 2011, 12:31 amThank you! I need to do another one, I’ve been slacking!!
Posted by Rachel | July 8, 2011, 12:35 amI agree those aren’t my kind of doodles, mine look more like scribbles. You’re very good! You’re very talented!
Posted by mouthfulofwords | July 8, 2011, 2:56 pmThis sketch is quite wonderful, I’m in sketch now and I love this piece of art. I’m not excactly an adult, but I stumble on this site on google!
Posted by Glitters2335 | June 24, 2011, 2:01 amBeautiful sketch! Is that a husky on the right? I grew up with one as a kid. The Governor. He was massive. Like having a wolf walking around the neighborhood with you. Anyway, like a said, gorgeous artwork.
Posted by iamspawn | May 19, 2011, 11:02 pmIt is! He’s my baby, Aspen. Huskies are the best dogs- I love the way they “talk” instead of barrk! Thanks for checking out my blog!
Posted by Rachel | May 19, 2011, 11:49 pmLove the picture! How did you design that?
Posted by julieleanes | May 19, 2011, 9:16 pmIt’s a technique I learned while I was studying architecture. I work off a photograph, black presentation board and transfer paper. Thank you for your comment!
