Say hello

I like Mediterranean food, writing, bold colors, logic games, new recipes, new places, red wine (the cheap kind), yoga, coffee table books, Dr. Seuss, design magazines, fashion blogs, New Orleans, art history (Mesoamerica, 6th century BC, anyone?), the Virgin Islands, hammocks (read: naps), green tea, and patios. I love to learn, and the only two things I really cannot stand are tomatoes and math.

I’ve been out of school since 2009, and I’m currently living at home (as in, with my parents). I have a lovely husky named Aspen who likes to sing when I get home from work, and I’m looking for all the writing gigs I can find (head over to www.pursuitist.com to see some of my current freelance work).

My motto is “wag more, bark less,” courtesy of the bumper sticker on my perpetually dirty 4Runner, and my favorite quote is “It is better to be high-spirited even though one makes more mistakes, than to be narrow-minded and all too prudent,” courtesey of Vincent van Gogh.

One last thing. I’m pretty easy going and I’m not mean, vindictive or malicious, so I won’t be approving any comments that are (you guessed it) mean, vindictive or malicious. Let’s play nice.

  2. Stumbled upon your blog today. It was highlighted by wordpress this morning! I love words, the sound of words, words within words and “colour” they add to life. I’ll be sure to click around and read some more! If you’d like, you can check out my blog as well at thewordwit.com 🙂

  3. Hi there. Just stumbled over your last post today and already shared it on Facebook as I’ve got lots of friends & colleagues in Houston, Texas and some in Dubai who’ll certainly enjoy it as much as I did. Your blog looks very nice and I’ll come back and snoop around more, very curious to read some of your recipes one day. My own blog (mainly in German but some stuff in English) is only a few months ‘older’ than yours so I know it takes time to bring all ideas into reality but it’s just so much fun 🙂

    • I’m so glad you liked it and could relate! And for the record, I’m from Texas and really wish I could get away with using words like “brilliant” and “maths.” Thanks for stopping by, hope to hear more from you!
